At Pinuku, every bite tells a story...
Rooted in friendship, heritage and a shared love for Asian flavors, we create desserts that are both nostalgic and refreshingly new. From humble beginnings to a cosy shop in Amsterdam, this is our journey.

Our story
Randy and Jermaine were friends long before they became business partners. Randy, of Moluccan-Indonesian descent, longed for entrepreneurship and a creative outlet. Jermaine, a Filipino chef at the high-end Asian fusion restaurant Geisha, was searching for his next venture after the restaurant closed.
Over a beer, an idea was born: starting their own business, inspired by their heritage, travels, and love for Asian flavors.
For Randy, it was mostly about nostalgia; flavors from his childhood and past travels. Jermaine sought innovation, driven by his solo trips to Japan and Korea.
What began as an idea for an online Asian dessert shop quickly turned into a physical space on Vijzelgracht. With no big budget but plenty of passion, they opened their doors in June 2024.
Their menu evolves with the seasons, offering premium Asian desserts and drinks. From mango sticky rice to mochi and sweet potato crème brûlée, a visit to Pinuku is like a culinary journey through Asia.
